Content Editor | The Lawyer Portal

Full Time | £32K – £35k | Central London / Remote (Hybrid Working).

We’re hiring a new Content Editor for The Lawyer Portal, an online resource for aspiring lawyers that has millions of users and is partnered with the Law Society of England & Wales.

The Lawyer Portal is a part of The Career Portal group. We are a small team but belong to the fastest-growing private education company in the UK (Dukes Education). So you’ll get the benefits and opportunities of small and big company culture at the same time.

You’ll take ownership of commissioning, editing, publishing and writing content for the site – a combination of blog articles, guides and content produced with clients. In time you will lead on the content strategy, and your objectives will be tied to the growth of website traffic, ecommerce sales and client retention.

Specifically, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Producing content that resonates with our audience and delivers growth
  • Overseeing freelancers working on content / social media
  • Planning the content strategy and pipeline, with the Head of Marketing
  • Working with clients to achieve their content-based objectives
  • Ensuring content categories are comprehensive and structured optimally

What we expect you to have:

  • At least 2 years of experience working in a digital content role
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Expertise in SEO best practice relating to content production and content strategy
  • Excellent self-organisation
  • Top-notch writing and editing skills
  • Experience using WordPress or similar content management platforms
  • Some working knowledge of Mailchimp and social media marketing would be useful
  • Any experience working in the law industry would be helpful, but is not required
