Full Job Description

We have an amazing opportunity for a Copywriter to join Team OB in our Support Office.

As a Copywriter at OB you’ll be writing and editing all copy produced across our OB websites (UK, IE and US) as well as any marketing or offline assets as required. Reporting to the Content Manager, you’ll also be responsible for implementing the editorial calendar, creating all brand and trading content for our blog and inspiration pages.

Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo. We are working a 50/50 split of office and home working.

An OB Copywriter will:

  • Responsible for all product, campaign, editorial and informational copy across the Oliver Bonas UK, IE and US websites, email, and other marketing campaigns where required
  • Oversee all product-associated copy written within the content team including product descriptions, packaging and labelling
  • Proofread, edit and provide feedback and guidelines to in-house team members and external marketing agency copywriters, plus sub-editing copy by guest contributors such as influencers
  • Provision of brand copy for key areas onsite including the homepage, landing pages, categories, navigation, sitewide banners and internal ads
  • Write seasonal campaign, sale and promotional messaging variations for all onsite touchpoints and marketing channels where required
  • Create and edit copy for paid advertising across google, google shopping and social channels
  • Responsible for edits to copy across all customer, informational and transactional touchpoints onsite
  • Be the guardian of the brand tone of voice, working closely with senior stakeholders on evolving the brand identity bible and tone of voice guidelines for use across the business
  • Lead on all brand, charity and sustainability signposting onsite, closely collaborating with the PR & Marketing team to ensure messaging visibility onsite
  • Ideate and deliver engaging and timely editorial / blog content weekly to support trading, brand, campaign or SEO opportunities
  • Work with our PR & Marketing teams and Digital PR Agency to support content marketing and outreach strategies with onsite assets
  • Create and implement the editorial content strategy for the UK, IE and US websites, deploying content producers where available to generate content
  • Work with art, design and photography teams briefing image and video assets to support content
  • Monitor performance of content in relation to key traffic, engagement and conversion metrics using tools available and A/B testing, implementing changes to improve performance

What we look for:

  • Excellent written English, creative copywriting and proofreading skills
  • Understanding of branding and tone of voice
  • Focused and meticulous, high level of accuracy and eye for detail
  • Able to produce creative output at a fast pace to deadlines
  • Digitally literate, understanding of web technologies and marketing channels
  • Understanding of SEO and content optimisation (Desirable)
  • Experience measuring content performance using reporting tools and dashboards (Desirable)
  • Previous experience working in Ecommerce and Magento CMS (Desirable)
