£48,500 – £62,500 plus benefits (Work Level 5)

Manchester city centre, with occasional travel to Co-op sites/stores

We’re looking for a digital operations manager to join us and help us grow our online delivery service, giving our customers more ways to shop with us. With 1.6 million online orders delivered in 2022, we’ve come a long way, but there’s more work to be done. We’ve got exciting ambitions to grow the number of online orders we deliver, and we need to continue to use tech to improve and innovate our operations, making Co-op an even better place for our members and customers to shop.

In this role, we’ll look to you to build great relationships with our 3rd party partners, so we can continue to grow our operations. You’ll take responsibility for operation development, engaging with key partners to create operational efficiencies and improve overall customer experience.

What you’ll do

  • build and maintain meaningful relationships with internal and external partners
  • lead on our tech roadmap and innovation for our online platforms
  • negotiate and maintain 3rd party contracts and manage new business in the development function
  • support wider business projects as an online partner
  • oversee large operational budgets
  • manage performance and developments for online operations
  • act as a champion for the entire online customer journey
  • support and develop your team to do a fantastic job
This role would suit people who have

  • strong ecommerce experience, preferably with an operational background
  • a willingness to learn and able to adapt to change
  • the experience of leading a large team and a track record of helping them develop and progress
  • knowledge and awareness of developments in the tech and digital landscape
  • the ability to build positive relationships internally and with external partners
