What you’ll do

The Digital team is looking for a highly commercial E-commerce Merchandiser to join our team. Alongside continued developments on our successful app, we are currently progressing a complete redesign of our website and have just implemented a brand new search and merch tool. This is therefore an exciting time to join a growth area of the Toolstation business and presents the successful candidate with an opportunity to use their experience to help shape our Digital trading processes and strategy.


Trading: Owning and contributing to the creation of the digital sales plan for your categories and optimising revenue and conversion. Leveraging in-house reporting systems to make data-lead decisions to meet your targets, promoting the right products to the right customers at the right point in their customer journey.
Analysing. Maximising product positioning and availability, determining what to promote on site real estate and providing analysis and insights to the business to improve our product offering. Using web metrics to enhance products and categories, highlighting online shopping trends and top sellers to other teams across the business.

Planning. Making sure all content updates for your categories are completed to launch deadlines. Management of the season product churn in line with our catalogue production schedule. Planning merchandising campaigns for relevant categories, and key events and working across functions and contributing to the company Trading Plan.

Delivering. Using your strong understanding of the Toolstation brand, its customers and the specified range, you’ll build strong relationships across Digital teams, the Commercial team the Marketing team and the IT team to support you in delivering the strong revenue growth ambitions in place.

Leading. Coaching, mentoring and developing your E-commerce Merchandising Executive to be the best version of themselves.

What you’ll bring

Experience. You’re well versed in online merchandising whether in an eCommerce setting or have strong merchandising skills with exposure to online trading. At home in a fast-paced growth business you’re a natural relationship builder which has helped you deliver strong revenue growth in the past.
Analytical. You love data; analysing, interpreting and problem solving is your thing. You get data, analyse it and use it to propose actionable insights and actions with ease.
Technical. Proven experience in using Google Analytics and analytics and merchandising tools to identify trends and take appropriate actions whilst confidently managing spreadsheets to handle data, using various formulae and techniques.

Commercial. Strong awareness and understanding of how E-commerce Merchandising impacts online turnover
