Ecommerce Merchandiser - Marketplaces Amazon - Rochdale

The Role
As part of our ecommerce marketplace growth strategy, we are looking for an Ecommerce Merchandiser to join our growing Ecommerce Marketplace Team. Reporting to the Head of Ecommerce, you will immerse yourself in the Amazon marketplace and our product proposition, implementing our FBM strategy effectively. You will be responsible for managing and optimising our Amazon ‘digital shelf, reviewing, refining, and applying our proposition, from product, pricing, and promotion perspectives, maximising every sales opportunity, and ensuring product listings are up to date, optimised, and error free.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Implement the Amazon FBM roadmap and strategy, planning and prioritising workload, to deliver on commercial objectives.
- Understand the relationship between Amazon fulfilment channels (VC / FBA / FBM), ensuring our FBM proposition works coherently with our VC and FBA product placement strategy.
- Be knowledgeable in all products, ranges, brands, and competitors, within our product categories, thereby applying our proposition effectively to maximise sales.
- Ensure all aspects of product listings are accurate, optimised, and up to date, to ‘gold’ and Amazon best practice standards, including branding elements (Amazon A+), with product information and content/digital assets, working and collaborating with Product/Brand Managers, and Content/Photography Team, ensuring listing impressions and conversion opportunities are maximised.
- Understand products and their variations to contribute in building relevant and effective variated listings, ensuring upsell, cross sell, and conversion opportunities are optimised.
- Understand products, and related/associated products, to drive AOV and customer value initiatives through bundles/kits creation, and bulk quantity value packs.
- Strive for best positioning on product rankings and key search terms, always improving and identifying new ranking opportunities.
- Stay ahead of new to range, run out, and product changes, to ensure the product proposition is always up to date, maximising sales, and minimising loss of sales.
- Be proficient in all aspects of Amazon marketplaces and operations, including listing best practices, trading policies, and effective use of marketing tools.
- Use order and sales performance reporting, and competitor monitoring, to identify product winners and losers, to inform proposition review and listing improvements.
- Monitoring all marketplace performance KPIs and highlighting concerns and issues.
Requirements
- Ecommerce Merchandising experience
- Minimum 2-3 years relevant or similar experience
- Fully proficient with Amazon Seller Central platform and trading
- Proficient in using Linnworks, or similar multichannel management software, to create and list inventory.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills to accurately describe products, using clear but creative language.
- Excellent MS Office Application Skills i.e. Excel
- Tech literate – Proficient/Experienced with/Ability to learn marketplace platforms, ERP systems, multichannel management software, and task management systems
- Strong understanding of commercial KPIs
- Product knowledge proficiency
