Position Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Ecommerce Trading Executive to join our Ecommerce team here at our Head Office in South Shields. This role will be responsible for the day-to-day online trading and merchandising management of the Barbour.com sites, globally. You will be accountable for the sales performance of our Ecommerce sites, with the opportunity to have a particular focus on the US Market. You will support the Trading Team in ensuring the merchandising plan is executed correctly and on time, working cross-functionally to collaboratively execute product lifecycle management and merchandising improvements on-site.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produce and review daily, weekly, and monthly trading and performance reports, analysing performance and impact, providing actionable insights and recommendations to the Senior Ecommerce Trading Manager.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics using Google Analytics, highlighting successes, underperforming metrics, and improvement areas.
  • Support the delivery of the ecommerce trading strategy by monitoring and shaping trade activity to increase sales and conversion, using data to work with cross-functional teams to guide and influence future focus & commercial opportunities.
  • Support with weekly trade meetings giving insight into sales performance, customer journey and ecommerce metrics.
  • Responsible for the visual merchandising of categories across Barbour.com, ensuring the visual merchandising strategy is always represented and delivered to the highest standard.
  • Support the critical path for new product launches, promotional activity, and campaign activations, analysing performance.
  • Ensure customer experiences are seamless throughout the funnel by conducting daily site walks across product pages, category pages, cross-sells, search keywords, making adjustments that are informed by data insight.
  • Ensure products have the required data and imagery to launch on time working to resolve any issues as quickly as possible to optimise sales onsite.
  • Maintain and optimize product attribution for product assortment and support customer experience.
  • Work with cross functional teams to identify new and innovative ways to drive brand awareness and traffic site as well as developing and improving traffic from existing channels.
  • Support both the Digital & CRM teams in ensuring the correct categories and collections are refined before marketing activity is live.
  • Maintain commercial awareness, understanding of key competitors and promotional plans, conducting daily and weekly analysis across our different focus markets.
  • Work closely with our digital agency, ensuring all paid marketing activity (PPC, display) is commercially driven and accurate against the regional trade calendar.

Skills and Experience:

  • You will be commercially aware with a sales focus in order to maximise conversion and cross-selling.
  • You will be data driven in your approach, understand the ecommerce customer across our different markets, analysing key metrics across sales, traffic, AOV and conversion.
  • You will have demonstrable working knowledge of merchandising processes, procedures, and systems.
  • You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Sound knowledge of google analytics and Microsoft Excel to be able to confidently pull performance reports and analyse on a weekly basis.
    • 2+ years ecommerce experience.
    • A flexible, positive, and confident approach with a can-do attitude
    • A working knowledge of retail business and e-commerce best practices.
    • Ecommerce trading experience within a retail business.
    • Proven track record of driving online sales growth.
