We have an exciting opportunity for a QA Engineer to join our Global Business Coordination department to support the development of our global eCommerce solutions for the ALDI South Group. As part of a hugely ambitious global change program, you will join a team responsible for the successful implementation of new strategy, software systems and processes to improve the customer experience which, by working with other business functions, will ensure Aldi remains relevant in the changing digital world.

The ideal candidate will have a background in IT projects or software test automation, understand the principles of agile development, and most of all be passionate about eCommerce and how businesses transact themselves online.

About the role


  • You will be instrumental in testing a cloud-based eCommerce solution
  • Ensure implementation quality, stability, and performance of the product
  • Review functional and non-functional requirements and designs for test suitability
  • Document test plan, test execution and results
  • Create manual and automatic test cases by using the current test framework based on PHP and Codeception
  • Provide input on capacity forecasts, effort, duration, and requirements for testing activities
  • Work on professional software development in an international environment
  • Working closely together with our development partner Spryker, you will be responsible for:
  • Identifying and sharing best practice within the Quality Assurance community and agile team
  • Challenging potential external providers (on application and system tests)
  • Actively participating in agile meetings and ceremonies according to SCRUM


About you


  • You will have experience working on large IT projects
  • Experience in Agile and software testing
  • test automation experience with either Codeception or equivalent test framework (e.g. Selenium)
  • eCommerce experience
  • API testing
  • Experience working with the automation frameworks and concepts
  • Basic knowledge of DevOps concepts, methodologies, and tools
  • Competent technical skills, ingenuity, and creativity
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the capability of working towards tight deadlines
  • Mathematical aptitude, attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a team and individually
  • High level of proactivity
  • Good communication and presentation skills

  • Salary starting from £33,165 rising to £47,990
  • 5-day/40-hour week, working Monday- Friday with an office on demand working model (you only come into the office when requested, with a primary office location in Tamworth)
