Junior Ecommerce Analyst – Hobbycraft Head Office, BH23 6HG
Salary up to £24,000 to £30,000 dependant on experience – Pension with a 4% contribution, 25 days holiday increasing every year, 25% discount in our stores
Full Time – 37.5 hours
Our core business working hours are Monday to Friday – 10am to 3pm, so we are flexible with starting and finishing times, we also offer hybrid working for 2 days from home
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical and tenacious person to join our fast moving and ambitious Digital Team. In the trackable world of digital, data is core to everything we do and drives our decision making. In this role you will provide a suite of clear, commercial and actionable reports across our digital touchpoints and trading performance to deliver a better customer experience, higher conversion and stronger sales; always looking for root causes, issues and opportunities. You do not need to have worked in online retail previously, but be comfortable working with data, digital platforms and looking to start a career in analytics.
Responsibilities
- Accountable for the delivery and ownership of the full suite of ecommerce reports across a real time (on-demand), daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Interpret the data to provide commentary as part of the report suite that joins up the data to tell the story of trends and exceptions
- Play a key role in the product management team by identifying issues and opportunities in the site user experience throughout the funnel, and tracking the impact of changes
- Deliver ad hoc and deep dive analysis to support business planning, e.g. across specific categories, products, acquisition channels or journeys
- Everyday usage of the analytics platforms and supplier relationships (Google Analytics, Contentsquare), understanding the roadmaps and new features
- Make use of alerts within the platforms to identify real time exceptions
- Working closely with the product management and IT teams on data integrity and accuracy, by ensuring that tagging is correct and fit for purpose
- Support digital strategic change projects with business modelling and provide dedicated reporting and dashboards in line with launches, to track the impact from day 1, communicating to all stakeholders
- Work closely across the whole ecommerce team, including finance partners, to gain awareness and understanding of end to end channel performance to ensure all analysis and interpretation is accurate and has the right context and support business forecasting
- Support the Digital Experience team across the key areas of optimisation, personalisation and merchandising, as well as create a self-serve data culture to support them in using the analytics tools independently
About You
- Ideally degree-level education in a field relating to data analysis and business performance
- Someone who loves data and expert user in Excel
- Able to visualise data for different audiences
- Adept at getting to expert user level in digital tools, with the requirement to become a Google Analytics super user and a Contentsqare expert
- Analyticallyminded
- Tenacious approach with strong problem-solving ability with a commercial, practical business mindset and able to join up data to tell a story and communicate to business stakeholders
- A team player who is happy to take ownership of analytics and get their hands dirty; this is a small team with big ambitions
