Description

We are looking for an Ecommerce Trading Assistant to join our eCommerce Total Platform team. Based at the Next Head Office in Enderby, Leicestershire!

The Role:

As an Ecommerce Trading Assistant within our Total Platform team, you will be the primary point of contact helping to drive sales growth and deliver an outstanding onsite experience for our partner brands. Working closely with our Trading Manager and a diverse network of cross-functional teams—from SEO and Data to UX and external partners—you will ensure every product is beautifully presented and effortless to find.

At NEXT, we want you to succeed from day one. You will receive comprehensive support and hands-on training to master our web merchandising tools, empowering you to own the end-to-end customer journey and make a tangible commercial impact.

What You’ll Take On:

  • Drive brand performance: Actively trade your partner brands across Total Platform and NEXT, monitoring product landing pages (PLPs) and identifying reactive, in-week opportunities to boost profitability.
  • Optimise product discovery: Act as the team expert for search and navigation, utilising tools like Bloomreach to refine search rules, synonyms, and seasonal categories so customers can easily find what they want.
  • Analyse and share insights: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including traffic, conversion, and full-funnel metrics, translating data into weekly trade updates for stakeholders.
  • Enhance the customer journey: Champion the customer by regularly shopping the site, ensuring technical product details are translated into customer-friendly language and swiftly escalating any technical issues.
  • Test and innovate: Lead new initiatives and features using a "test and learn" approach, collaborating with SEO and personalisation teams to tailor the user journey and improve Google rankings.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A collaborative spirit: A natural team player who builds strong, supportive relationships across cross-functional digital teams.
  • An analytical mindset: Comfortable diving into metrics and user behaviour data to spot trends, solve problems, and make confident commercial decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills: Ability to share knowledge clearly, explaining digital ideas comfortably to both technical developers and brand stakeholders.
  • Organisation and adaptability: Great attention to detail with the agility to manage busy trading moments and adapt proactively to changing ecommerce priorities.
  • A customer-first passion: A genuine enthusiasm for product and a customer-centric mindset, always striving to evolve and improve the online shopping experience.
