Description

Ecommerce Data Quality Administrator (4-Week Project)

Duration: 4 Weeks | Start Date: Immediate | Location: UK Only Rate: £16 per hour (£120 per day based on 7.5 hours)

The Role This is not a standard data entry job. We are migrating our furniture product database into a new retail partner format, and we need to ensure 100% accuracy. You will be responsible for translating data ranges, but more importantly, for manually auditing every cell to ensure the information is logical and consistent.

This is a detailed task that requires someone to be in the weeds of a spreadsheet for the duration of the project.

Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Technical Mapping: Use INDEX(MATCH) and Data Validation to move data into new templates.
  • Line-by-Line Audit: Perform a manual, cell-by-cell check of every product. You will look for hidden errors that formulas might miss (e.g., a finish description that doesn't match the SKU, or product dimensions that are physically impossible).
  • Logical Verification: Cross-reference weights, dimensions, and materials against a master database.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: If a cell feels off or data is missing, you will proactively contact business stakeholders to verify the correct information.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Obsessive Attention to Detail: You genuinely enjoy the process of finding and fixing small errors.
  • Excel Fluency: Highly proficient with formulas, but understands that formulas are only as good as the data they pull.
  • Critical Thinker: You don't just move data; you look at it and ask, "Does this make sense?"

To filter for the high level of attention to detail required, we will only review applications that follow these steps in a covering letter:

  1. Subject Line: Must be exactly: "Data Audit: [Your Name]"
  2. The Logic Test: Briefly answer: If a product's "Assembled Height" is 100cm but the "Box Height" is 80cm, is this a data error or a possibility?
