We are looking to recruit an Ecommerce Merchandiser for a leading online retailer.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in ecommerce merchandising or online trading who enjoys using data to influence commercial decisions and optimise online sales performance.
Working within the merchandising team, you will analyse deal and product performance to identify opportunities to improve sales and customer engagement. You will use data from previous campaigns and offers to understand what sells well, how deals should be priced, and how they should be presented on the website.
You will work closely with sales teams to ensure offers are promoted effectively and aligned with customer demand. This role requires someone who can interpret data quickly, communicate insights clearly and operate comfortably in a busy ecommerce environment.
This role would particularly suit someone currently working as an Assistant Merchandiser, Junior Merchandiser, Ecommerce Trading Assistant or Ecommerce Analyst looking to take the next step in their career.
Key Responsibilities
Performance & Data Analysis
- Analyse product and deal performance to identify opportunities to increase sales
- Interpret ecommerce data (Excel and other tools) to understand customer behaviour and conversion trends
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and present clear, actionable insights to stakeholders
- Monitor onsite performance and identify risks or opportunities to improve conversion
Commercial Strategy & Sales Support
- Recommend pricing, positioning, and promotional strategies for online offers
- Work closely with sales teams to ensure offers are aligned with customer demand and commercial goals
- Identify gaps in product offering and support sales teams in sourcing relevant deals
- Conduct competitor analysis and highlight new business opportunities
Market & Category Growth
- Identify product and category opportunities based on trends and demand
- Support growth initiatives across key markets (including ownership of specific regions where required)
- Align merchandising activity with seasonal campaigns and trading strategies
Onsite & Customer Experience Optimisation
- Ensure products are effectively presented onsite to maximise visibility and conversion
- Work with SEO and optimisation teams to align product availability with trending search terms
- Support improvements across the customer journey
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Previous experience in ecommerce merchandising, trading, or online retail
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse and interpret data
- Commercial mindset with the ability to turn insights into actions
- Strong communication skills and ability to present findings clearly
- Ability to prioritise and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- Experience with tools such as SQL or Power BI
- Experience working with SEO, onsite optimisation, or digital marketing teams
- Exposure to multi-market or international ecommerce environments
